What are the steps in the certification process?

The process begins with a feasibility study of your certification project. If the project's admissibility is confirmed, we then formulate an estimate adapted to your project.

Upon receipt of the signed quote and deposit, an email containing the list of documents requested will be provided. Upon receipt of your complete file, the documentary audit will be taken care of by a certification officer who will make a report on the conformity of the file.

Once the documentary audit is validated, a physical audit on the production site will be scheduled in agreement with the auditor, the production site manager and the certification officer.

Once the audit has been completed and the certification committee has given a favorable opinion, your certification officer will deliver a digital version of your product and/or factory certificate along with the invoice for the outstanding fees.
 

How long does it takes to obtain the EVE Vegan certificate? 

The time required to study the certification file depends mainly on the time required to send the required documents. When you sign the contract, a list of documents required for your file is provided. The more complete and compliant the documents we receive, the shorter the delay. From the date of receipt of your documents, it takes a maximum of 2 weeks for a first documentary return from your expert.The average time for obtaining the EVE Vegan® certification is 3 months from the receipt of the documentary file

How long is my certificate valid?

A Product certificate is valid for 18 months. A Factory certificate is valid for 36 months.

Do I have to make exclusively vegan products to be certified? 

No, the certification is for one product, not all of the company's products. A mixed activity (vegan and non-vegan) is not an obstacle to certification. As for the factory certification, it concerns the validation of the Quality Management System independently of the fact that all the products are not themselves certified or certifiable.

Can I get certified if I manufacture my products at a subcontractor?

Yes, however, the subcontractor will have to agree to have the EVE Vegan® compliance audit carried out on his production site. The assessment will cover his Quality Management System. The applicability of the audit at your subcontractor's site is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the project configuration.

Who can apply for certification?

Any company can apply for a certification. However, in order to apply for certification, you must be the legal owner of the brand. No quotation or certificate will be issued on behalf of a third party. We also advise you to make sure that your company has a quality system (QMS) in order to be able to serenely pass the audit of the production site.

Can I have a service certified?

The certification of a service not being a manufacturing service, requires a preliminary study of its admissibility to the certification program. We advise you to contact us to discuss your project with an expert.

Is the certification recognized?

How do I use my certification?

You can use the logo of the certification on all the products certified by our services. You can also publish it on your social networks, on your website and any other promotional media subject to compliance with the graphic charter provided after certification. Read more.

What is the price for vegan certification?

Each certification project is different. However, the pricing model is applied to all projects in the same way: expert fees, product fees and audit fees. To obtain our detailed fee schedule contact us or make a request a quote online.

Can I have new products certified during th validity of my certificate?

It is possible to add products during the validity of your certificate, but also to modify the parameters of your certification project (new production sites, new formulas, etc.). To do this, simply send your project to secretariat who will issue a certification extension or modification fee quote.

How does a recertification process work?

Three months before the certificate expires, you will receive an email notification with a renewal quote. You only need to sign the quote and pay the deposit to start the renewal process. We carry out a complete evaluation of your documentation to ensure that the product still complies with the certification standard. In the case of factory certificates, we conduct a new audit at the production site(s) to ensure that the factory still complies with the certification standard.

How do i know if my products is suitable for certification?

Not all types of products are eligible for vegan certification, which must remain relevant to the consumer. Therefore, we evaluate the admissibility of candidate products on a case-by-case basis. Raw, unprocessed plant products, water, kitchen utensils or vegetative reproduction material are not eligible. If you have any doubts about the admissibility of your products, do not hesitate to contact us by email or by phone.

How do I know if my production facility is suitable for certification?

Our certification procedure requires the audit of the production site by a qualified auditor. Our requirements to guarantee the criteria are at least the existence of an internal traceability system and a quality management system (QMS). Without a quality system, you will not be able to obtain a favorable opinion and corrective action obligations will be required before certification is granted. The production site can be mixed (vegan and non-vegan production). However, it is mandatory that the risks of cross-contamination be identified, evaluated and controlled.

What is the difference between a Product certificate and a Factory certificate?

A Product certificate guarantees a list of products as conforming to the standard and having the authorization to use the certification logo on their packaging. A Factory certificate guarantees that the place of production complies with the certification standard. This does not mean that all products produced on this site are vegan and can use the certification logo. A "product" certificate is required for this.

Do my suppliers' ingredients have to be certified before?

No, it is not mandatory that your raw materials or suppliers are EVE Vegan® certified. However, if they are, it will make the process easier..

Can you certify products manufactured outside Europe?
